Qingdao adds new land-based international logistics channel
2024-11-15

Recently, two trucks driven by Qingdao truck drivers set sail from Mohan Port in Yunnan, China and Laixi City, Qingdao, heading for Southeast Asia and Hanoi, a coastal city in Vietnam, marking Qingdao's opening up of a new GMS international road transport route. It is understood that this is the second cross-border logistics route in the Greater Mekong Subregion launched within a week after the city's first attempt at the "China·Qingdao-Thailand·Bangkok" national launch.

At the same time, two trucks carrying Qingdao local agricultural products, one of which is the Lu B35071 truck, officially set off across the Guangxi border. In the next six days, they will cross Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei and other provinces and cities, with a total mileage of more than 2,700 kilometers.

Master Li, the driver of the Lu B35071 truck who carried out the mission, said that he has a lot of driving experience, but this trip is simply incredible and too far. While waiting for customs clearance, he also sent a voice message to his fellow drivers to share this rare experience.

In recent years, Qingdao has actively explored efficient and accessible land-based international logistics channels. Data shows that as of October this year, Qingdao has 14 TIR certificate holders, and the TIR "China-Russia Express" has shipped a total of 208 vehicles, ranking first in the country in terms of the number of certificate holders and the scale of shipments. In addition, Qingdao is the eighth in the country and the only TIR transport vehicle verification agency in the eastern coastal area.

It is worth mentioning that from January this year to date, Qingdao has successfully opened a new "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" TIR international road transport route and the country's first Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) international road transport "China·Qingdao-Thailand·Bangkok" route.
